Living in alignment with the seasons can help create more flow in your overall life. Summer is a time when the days are long and we often find ourselves falling out of our regular rituals and routines, while we tend to overextend ourselves on short winter days. One of my favorite ways to stay balanced throughout every season while also enjoying holiday rituals and routines is to follow Ayurvedic Scheduling.
Ayurveda is the sister science of yoga, filled with traditions backed by ancient wisdom. The entire philosophy is broken down into three doshas or elements - which can serve as a basic guide for your wellbeing.
The Three Doshas
Pitta [Fire]
Vatta [Air]
Kapha [Earth/Water]
Every person, place and thing has it's own elemental makeup or dominate doshic profile. Throughout the day, certain elemental energies are more prominent, meaning that our days can be broken down into doshas as well!
Ayurvedic Scheduling- Break down your day into six parts to live in alignment with the flow of the elements.
